About Me

From a student to Professor and now a business professional, my journey has been an exciting one. What began as an interest in high school, pervaded into a desire to understand the funda behind the very world we live in. This led me to pursue a BA Honors course in economics.

Through my curriculum, I began to realize the constraints that the economic environment places on business decisions and I followed through with an MBA, focusing on the application of these principles in business management. It gave me a unique perspective to understand the influence of social, political, legal, natural and physical environment on businesses. To further complete my understanding of the subject, I took a dive into accountancy and law and I got my Chartered Accountant’s degree.

Learning and teaching are very separate in principle and yet are interwoven. I could instruct only while constantly gaining more insight. I began my career in academics as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Studies, University of Rajasthan where I taught Managerial Economics, Business Environment and Research Methodology for five academic years. I then worked as faculty in leading management institutes in Mumbai including Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), Narsee Monji Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), ICFAI Business School (IBS) and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RGIT) at Mumbai for more than a decade.

Bitten by the research bug, I enrolled for a Doctoral degree in Business Management and was awarded a Ph. D. by the University of Rajasthan for my research on the nature and causes of industrial sickness in the non-SSI sector in India. I also indulged in independent research studies in the field of Debt Markets in India and Corporate Governance. Later I joined the Libord Group of Companies working in the financial services sector as NBFC, Merchant Banker, Brokers and Financial Consultants.

Following my passion for teaching, I’ve shared my learnings in various formats for the past two decades. I wrote a weekly column for about a decade (2010-2020) every Friday in a leading Hindi newspaper Hamara Mahanagar and contributed 470 articles on a wide array of subjects ranging from economic policies, global economy to securities markets and regulatory environment.

Besides that, I have published several books and research papers, written for several magazines and have spoken at various seminars.

For me learning has been a continuous process. I completed my Masters in Economics in the year 2021 with specialization in “Financial Institutions & Markets” and “Development Issues & Perspectives”.

With this website, I hope to make sense of economic policies, the global trends and our place in all of it.
